The view of the beautiful sea and the setting sun over the Sea of Japan, seen from Shiroyama Park, is simply magnificent. This area is noted as a cherry blossom viewing spot in spring. The port once prospered when Kitamaebune (commercial ships) made port calls to wait out storms.
